The April Hotline
On finagling undies, dusting off my trench coats, and visiting one million museums
April Fool’s Day in the age of the internet means the first gag to fall across your feed may be the only that actually tricks you, even if only for the moment it takes to swipe for the reveal. But between the rise of undisclosed AI and rampant misinformation, I’m so skeptical that even the first fool I saw didn’t get me this year. I don’t know if I should be proud of my weariness, or a bit sad about my lack of whimsy.
The shoot I styled for Miu Miu and PurseBlog last month recently went live! A few of my favorite shots are below. Translating Miu Miu’s runway looks to reality is always a fun challenge. The brand has very specific style codes and so much layering, which means there’s always quite a bit of behind-the-scenes magic required to get the perfect tucking, folding, and hanging. Let’s just say the super casual cotton bikini bottoms you see here were not so super casual in person…

You may remember I was looking for a job in my March Hotline. In yet another lesson on the successes of being vulnerable on the internet - my pleas were heard! I’m so happy to announce that I’ve joined the team at Superette. This incredible Chinatown vintage shop is a colorful, maximalist wonderland that I’m so excited to be part of. You can come visit me in the store about twice a week, with a special collection of vintage from my brand, St. Evens, available to shop every day.

On My Calendar…
I’m headed to the desert! My family lives very far apart - none of us are in the same time zone. We usually only get the chance to get together about once a year, so this time around my parents, sister, and I are all flying to my brother in Phoenix. I’ll be eating plenty of Mexican food & fry bread, going lizard mode (absorbing as much sun as possible), hiking, and obviously vintage shopping. I have high hopes on the sourcing front - I’m taking an empty checked bag. I’ll keep you posted!
